Kuzbassrazrezugol announces growing results

In the first half of 2021, Kuzbassrazrezugol mined 20.5 million tons of coal (including 3.2 million tons of coking coal). This is 5.6% lower than in the same period of 2020, but in line with the established targets. Since the beginning of the year, the company’s beneficiation plants have processed 18 million tonnes of coal.

Almost 19.8 million tons of product have been sent to consumers since the beginning of the year. Growing demand in the coal market has enabled the company to ship 10% more than the delivery target that was adjusted upwards in March and reach the same level as the previous year. Excess volumes were sent for export. In total, the company exported 13.5 million tons of coal since the beginning of the year (+15% compared to the forecast), while deliveries to the domestic market are in line with the target of 6.2 million tons.

By the end of the year, Kuzbassrazrezugol expects to mine another 24.5 million tons of coal and deliver 21 million tons of product. As a reminder, in March this year, due to the favorable situation on the coal market, the company revised upwards its production plans for 2021, increasing the production plan from 41 to 45 million tons of coal and shipments from 37 to 41 million tons. The additional volumes were distributed among the Taldinsky, Krasnobrodsky and Mokhovsky coal company branches. The company also focused on increasing the number of workers and the large-scale renewal of the mining and transport equipment fleet.
