“Uralelectromed” has successfully passed the audit of the environmental management system
From November 23 to 27, the leading expert of the Russian Register Certification Association carried out a re-certification audit of the environmental management system (EMS) of Uralelektromed Ltd. to assess its compliance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001:2015 and the management system for occupational safety and industrial security after the transition to the new standard ISO 45001:2018 which replaced the OHSAS18001:2007 standard.
The audit took place at the Verkhniaya Pychma site – in the “Non-ferrous Metal Alloy Production” and “Polymer Production” divisions. In general, the managers and staff of the divisions demonstrated a high level of competence, awareness of environmental issues, labor protection and industrial safety, openness and interest in obtaining objective audit results. During the audit, systemic documents were reviewed, including the new Corporate Policy and issues related to the organizational context, risk and opportunity management, management and performance evaluation in the area of environmental protection and worker protection. A positive assessment was given to the work of the company’s management and the staff of the divisions responsible for maintaining and constantly improving the systems. At the final meeting the Chief Auditor Aleksey Aleksandrov confirmed the conformity of Uralelectromed’s management systems with international standards and gave a favorable opinion for issuing new certificates for a period of 3 years.
The day before the external audit of the company on the order of its director adopted the new “Policy in the field of quality, ecology, labor protection and industrial safety, energy consumption and energy efficiency of Uralelectromed” elaborated taking into account the requirements of the new international standard ISO 45001:2018. It is a fundamental systemic document that formulates the strategic directions of the company and its obligations for their implementation.
